Westport Rotary LOBSTERFEST 2024!
Westport Rotary Club will once again host the annual LobsterFest at Compo beach on Saturday September 21, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Tickets are available online starting August 15.
LobsterFest Volunteers Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I volunteer for the Westport LobsterFest?
A: Go to the LobsterFest Volunteer button on the home page at https://www.westportrotary.org/ or the volunteer form link.
Q: Where does the money that is raised at LobsterFest go?
A: Your hard work helps Westport Rotary raise funds for over 40 community organizations in Fairfield County. 100% of net profits go directly to community and service projects.
Q: Do I need to purchase a ticket to be a volunteer?
A: Volunteers are not required to purchase a ticket. If a volunteer would like to eat lobster or steak, he or she must purchase a ticket. Tickets are $100 per person. Tickets may be purchased online starting August 15, 2024 at https://www.westportrotary.org/. Alternately, the volunteer may request a hamburger/hot dog voucher when they check in at the volunteer desk. Hamburger/hot dog vouchers and a drink wristband will be distributed for those that do not purchase a ticket.
Q: Can I fill out a volunteer form for myself and my family?
A: Each volunteer needs to complete their own signup form.
Q: How old do you have to be to be a lobster cook or cracker?
A: Lobster cooks and cracker trainees must be over 18 years old
Q: Do I automatically get the job I signed up for?
A: While most do get the job they signed up for, assignments are not confirmed until you receive an email from the volunteers committee the week prior to the event.
Q: How many people attend the Westport Rotary LobsterFest?
A: LobsterFest hosts 1,500+ guests and 250+ volunteers annually.
Q: If I have a friend who would also like to volunteer for the first time, how can they participate?
A: We love new volunteers! Please either forward the email you received with the link to the form or refer them to our website to the volunteer button.
Q: Can I show up late for my shift?
A: Please be sure to report on time for your shift to relieve earlier shift volunteers.

· Friday (Sept. 20) afternoon set up from 3:00pm to 6:30pm
· Saturday (Sept. 21) morning set up from 9:00am to 1:00pm
· Saturday (Sept.21) EVENT – Shifts vary from 2:00pm to 7:30pm
· Sunday Morning (Sept. 22) after event clean up from 9:00am to 12:30pm
There are 2 shifts available for each job at the event. Times vary based on the job.
